Tips for girls
Tips to keep them wanting to spend more and more and more and more time getting
to know more about you. Perhaps it’s the crush you’ve been nursing on the guy-next
door, or a date with Mr. Tall-Dark-Handsome you met online? Nevertheless, step one:
target located!The mission? Make sure he has a good time when you meet;
come out of the encounter smelling of roses; and more importantly, peak his curiosity.
Here are some tips to do just that.
Play it Cool
Work on sounding natural; and make
sure your conversation doesn’t seem rehersed, even though it might be.
Don’t act too interested; you may drive him away.
Don’t Babble
Stop before
you start speaking to think about what you want to say, and don’t overexplain or
rush. Once you’ve made your point, pause.
Explore Mutual Interests
Rather than asking him point-blank, mention the things
you like casually; and elaborate when he says, “Hey, I like trekking, too”. Who
knows? Maybe it will lead to a date in the woods.
B+
Nobody likes a whiner. Even if you need to confess something, put a positive spin
on it. Example: “Nope, I can’t share your peanut-crunch ice-cream. I’m allergic
to nuts. If I do, we’ll have to use sign language to continue this conversation”.
Stand Out
We don’t mean arrive barefooted or wear a witch’s peak cap. Just think
about what’s unique about you and find ways to let him know.
Dress Well
if he is
eyeing your pants thinking, ‘My grandmother
has one of those in a different color’; or averting them when he catches sight of
that not-so-subtle cleavage; you are either playing it too safe or else pushing
the envelope—off the table.
Spoiler Alert!
Compare yourself to a thrilling novel. Would you be interesting if
the twists and turns were revealed before-hand? Keep the mystery till the end, keep
him guessing!
Be Informed
Keep abreast of current
affairs so you can contribute your views if he suddenly asks you about something
like your take on Obama’s health policy or China’s Facebook Ban.
Ask Questions
The
best way to get him interested in you is to show interest in his life. That way,
he will find you a good listener and you would get to know something more about
him.
Let Stories Jump, Hop and Stumble
Treat your stories like a jigsaw puzzle.
Example, you’re getting to the grand finale when interrupted. Let
the topic drift to other things. The next time, if he says, “I can’t stop thinking
about what happened to your story”, do a happy dance when no one is looking.
